At the age of thirteen, my mother taught me to embroider. I was quite proud of my accomplishment and fell in love with handwork. Shortly thereafter, I was given the opportunity to use my mother's sewing machine and with her guidance, I sewed my first garment. Sewing became my passion. When my children were born, the first garments they wore were handsewn day gowns. When my daughter was eleven months old, I opened my first shop, A Stitch in Tyme. That was twenty-five years ago and many day gowns later. Lilies and Lace opened in March 2008 when my first grandchild was eighteen months old. It is wonderful not only creating beautiful garments for her but also sharing with you the art of sewing through the many classes taught and the numerous items available for all of your sewing needs.
